{designer love: kim parker}

Happy Monday Morning!

I've been burning the midnight oil for the past week trying to get my etsy shop off the ground! Which has required many late nights! Thankfully, I think I will finally have a few more items to add in the upcoming weeks and of course as always you will find me blogging about all my new jewels  here, instagraming or tweeting @ModernGraceDesigns!

You can also find Modern Grace Designs on Facebook....will try to keep that updated as well! Whew! This social media thing is a LOT of work! If I can juggle all those it'll be a miracle y'all! :)

.................................................................................................................................................

On a totally un-related note: I've fallen head over heels for Kim Parker's Pillow Collection!  With summer right around the corner I find myself craving more colorful patterns-- and Kim's collection of textiles and artwork is just that!

I am especially drawn to her more "abstract" pieces...like this gorgeous rug!

and if you can't afford a new rug...how bout a few of her throw pillows?! Just as lovely...

She even has her own bedding...how cute would this be in a young girl's room?

Hope you all have yourselves a lovely Monday! I'm off to work...luckily I can work from my jammies these days! :)

{insta.friday}

Happy Friday Friends!

Mr. Cattlebuyer and I totally "high-fived" at lunch today! We made it through another crazy week.  We are going to enjoy every minute of our weekend because he's leaving AGAIN Sunday afternoon for a week long trip.

Anyways- here's our week in instagram pictures!

Mr. Cattlebuyer took me out on date night last Friday...we had fun but we were back home by 10:30.  Does that mean we are getting OLD?

Made cini-mini rolls Saturday morning....they are so easy and super yummy! :)

Conquered a pile of plaid shirts...ironing is my least favorite "chore".

Enjoyed the beautiful evenings we've had by going on long walks...

Got this "coupon" in my birthday card this year....I was totally excited for FREE babysitting!
(yep, we are getting old...!)

My pastel birthday cake sprinkles

Birthday picnic in the park-- my idea of a perfect birthday! :)

My idea of the perfect birthday card....I still can't believe Mr.Cattlebuyer (and Nugget boy!)  took time to individually switch crayons after every letter.  Even the inside was all rainbow lettered! Hilarious- but I love it! :)

New necklace I made this week, thinking these may get added to my etsy boutique in a few weeks!

Bedtime stories with my boy! This is one of his faves! :)

That's it for this week-- hope you all have a relaxing weekend!

{good morning}

Good morning bloggy friends!

Hope you all enjoyed your weekend, I'm sorta pumped for this week because it just so happens to be my birthday week! Super-duper-excited, birthday's are always fun!  I vow to always live it up (even when the gray hairs and wrinkles start coming...) , every birthday is another year God gives me to live for his glory and I plan on doing just that! :)

Just enjoying my coffee this morning, and doing some spring cleaning on the ol' computer. Hope you enjoy all these pretty things I had saved to share with you for-evah! There is no rhyme or reason...just a mixed random variety here!

I'd totally let it slide if my husband decided to take a sharpie to my coffee mug...sweet huh?

dying over these gorgeous beds....aren't they so pretty?

Love the fresh airy feeling of this kitchen/dining room

No, we don't plan on having another bebe for a while, but isn't this crib somethin' else? Love the matte gold finish and the diagonal striped bumpers are super cute! Also notice the paper doll artwork...love.

sink envy...

My favorite flower of all time, lilly of the valley! These grew every spring in a patch next to my childhood house....my sisters and I, we'd go out and pick big bunches of it and bring it inside.  It smelled so good! I can still smell it now...

This showstopper headboard!

Love the mix of wood, metal, vintage and greenery here:

Hope you all have a beautiful Monday!

{instafriday}

Happy Friday Friends!

Hope you all are having a fantastic day...I'm linking up my instagram pictures with Janette at Life Re-arranged.

This is what I've been up to:

Last weekend I made homemade Oatmeal Creme Pies....gave Little Debbie a run for her money!  These were packed with gooey goodness!

My sweet boy...using me as a jungle gym. typical.

That darn 70% basket of Reese's Eggs at Wal Mart totally suckered me in...I have no will power when it comes to peanut butter + chocolate.

To counterbalance my oatmeal creme pie and reese's egg indulgances...I had some chick food for supper the other night.  Mr. Cattlebuyer was in New Mexico for the evening so I had a healthy salad (minus the sour cream and corn chips...whoops! :))

Tackling my inbox this week.

Love rainbows after rain storms...

Paid a visit to the ducky pond this week....nugget just kept saying "qwwwaacckk, qwwwaaaccck!" the whole time we were visiting. I may never take him to a real zoo, the duck pond is free and way more entertaining as far as I'm concerned. ;)

That's all I got for you this week! You can follow me by searching for "lbergen2" on Instagram if you'd like to see all my crazy photos!

Have a relaxing weekend y'all!

{design board: vignette sitting room}

Sometimes I get a request to work on just a "small" space...just a vignette of sorts.   Recently, I got a request for just helping a client pick out some of the basic pieces for the sitting room (more like a nook) off her master bedroom.  Of course I was giddy excitement.

This is the finished design board:

This sitting nook design board has a very classic feel with some slightly modern touches.  Neutral upholstery with touches of color (my personal favorite!).   We really wanted these fabulous chairs to be center stage in the nook so we kept all other accessories and decor fairly simple and minimal.  Every piece was chosen with careful selection as my client prefers a "cleaner" look to her accessory choices.   These amazing cream chairs with nail head trim are absolutely gorge! The artwork really ties the whole color palette together and creates the perfect backdrop on the wall.  This little space although minimal selections will be nothing short of beautiful  in real life.

Hope you all have a fantastic Thursday!  I'll be back tomorrow with my crazy week in instagram photos...you don't want to miss it! ;)

{wiwiww}

Happy Wednesday!

Another week gone by and as much as I wish I had a picture to share with ya'll I just don't. I've sort of fallen off the wiww bandwagon and I need help jumping back on!

Today I thought I'd share with you "what i wish i wore....on wednesdays". Ya know if I had a big important job in some fancy building in New York City.

Like this dress, those sleeves are amazing....

and I'd carry this Chloe bag, with no fear that my nugget would dribble his juice all over it.

of course I'd wear my stylish ray bans as well

and I'd be dripping in gold jewelry....less is not more in this circumstance. Pile it on! The more the merrier:

Of course this is all but a dream...instead I'll be wearing my yoga pants and running shoes with no plans of doing yoga or running today! :)

I'll be "running" with my boy on my hip and instead of being called "mrs." I will be called "nonny" as my sweet toddler struggles with his "m" sounds. I will drive a pick up and instead of flagging down a cab I will just discretely give a wave to the farmer in the john deere I pass as I head into town.

I may not live a very glamourous life, it's not even close to fancy. Somedays getting my hair into a pony tail is a challenge. But I'm telling ya, I have the best life ever. Would not trade a day in a fancy designer dress with big wigs for spending time with my boy doing the everyday and getting to run my own ebusiness from home.

Hope you all enjoy your day, wearing and doing whatever it is that your heart truly desires! Afterall, that really is all that truly matters. No expensive dress or handbag will ever buy you true happiness.

{tone-on-tone}

Nothing makes my heart flutter more than tone-on-tone rooms! I have a deep love for neutrals (don't worry I love me some color too!) but there is something very relaxing and calm about neutral colored spaces.

take a look for yourself at this gorgeous home which was featured on Pure Style Home and Cote de Texas blog's recently:

y'all know I love toparies- use them frequently in my designs!

I'm just dying over all these beautiful rooms, the fabulous mix of textures and patterns paired with touches of green makes these spaces swoon-worthy!

{it's all in the details: scallops}

Happy Monday to all of you!

I know you all know I love finding beauty in the details...and lately I've gotten a bit burnt out on the "chevron" pattern trend! *gasp* I know, I should be asshamed for saying that but really, I think it's gone a bit overboard.  I still like it in small doses, don't get me wrong.  But I think it's time to move on from the zig-zag.

I think scallops should be the new chevron.

{upholstery fabric from caitlin wilson design}

{shop 10/25}

absolutely love the scallop detailing on the edge of these drapes!

more fabulous scallop detailing on the pillow shams and the sheet set. so fabulous!

here's an example of how to incorporate scallops into your woodwork...love the spaced out look of the scallops. Looks a little less feminine and girly if you know what I mean.

now this kitchen totally looks feminine too me. cute on the countertop edge.

scallop details can even be in your accessories like these hurricanes:

Or this sweet basket liner:

Or if you are really brave, use scallop detailing on your vent hood:

I think they are like a sweet feminine version of a chevron.

Hope you all have a wonderful day!
