{friday photo dump}

Happy Friday Friends!

Today is going to be a jam-packed day for us, we have lots on our plate.  I'm wrapping up a super fun design board {dining room} project this afternoon, I'm going to share it with y'all next week!

I also have to take Cash's Easter john-john in to have it monogrammed this morning with his initials {he's got the same as his daddy, which makes me smile!}.  I've been searching for a place here in town who does embroidery and I finally found someone.
Praying it'll be done by Wednesday- nothing like waiting until the last minute! :) I also decided last night at 11pm I want to make him a real collared shirt to go underneath his john-john.  I was going to chicken out and just use a white polo shirt but after trying it out, I think we need the real. deal. so back to the fabric store we go...

We also have one of chance's co-workers coming with a moving truck today (we've been storing his stuff for 8 or 9 months while he's been on the road), AND another set of our friends took off yesterday morning (they are moving too!).  So sad to see everyone leave, but happy for everyone's new endeavors.

Anyways- here's our week in photos! Hope you enjoy....sometimes I wonder if I bore you all with this stuff?

This week we took a trip the the petting zoo...okay not REALLLLY. More like our next door barn, nugget was pretty enamored with this little fella sitting by his feet, sadly I think the baby kid was sick, his eyes were closed the entire time.

Momma Billy...we call all goats "billy". Even though I have no idea what the difference is between a billy goat and a farm goat? Maybe you can inform me?

we also walked out to the pasture to see the "moo-moo's" but they ran away from us, ugh! Don't they know we walked across an entire cotton field to get there?  How dare them.... ;)

Nugget has also become my new gardener...ain't he cute? He does exceptionally well with watering the lawn except when a big semi or tractor rolls through, then he gets easily distracted & looses focus. :)

Sadly after battling a cold for 3 weeks, I got 1 week of relief and now I'm all sorts of messed up with my allergies.  my relationship with spring is very love-hate.  Since I was feeling less than superb, I broke out my old prismacolors from college one afternoon.  I forgot how much fun these markers are! I spent an hour just doodling future blog designs....I don't remember the last time I sat down and just colored.  would love to get back into sketching-  I think it'd be fun to showcase some sketches on my blog portfolio as well!

Yes, this is what my mess looked like , and yes that is indeed a Diet Dew can in the background.  Y'all would be so proud of me, I've been really working hard at trying to "ween" myself.  I'm down to 1 or 2 cans a day, which is a BIG deal if you knew the astronomical number I used to drink....

Primsacolors...they are so expensive but by golly these things last! I've had this set since freshman year of college and they all work like they are brand new!)  I guess you get what you pay for...think I paid something like 50 some bucks for this set! YIKES! that's a LOT of moo-la for markers!

since I gave my sewing machine a break this week, don't think I just sat around doing nothing!  I used my jig-saw skills and hacked down our old counter height table one afternoon to make this perfect little children's table for Cash.  He loves it! I found the chairs last weekend at a flea market and got them for a STEAL from some "peddlers". I was so excited. I have big plans for this little table & chairs.  Thinking the chairs definitely need some fun green paint.  This is now where we eat breakfast, color, and play trucks.

Cash also got some new spring sneakers....perfect for the park.

We also splurged and got him his first real pair of cowboy boots now that he's got the walking/running/climbing stairs down pat. He even got to on his first horsie ride last weekend at our friend's house.  I should have taken a picture, but I forgot my camera! :(

Hope you all have a fantastic weekend, we are going to be busy bee's running around trying to get everything ready for our trip next week.  And please wish me luck that I get all this sewing done this weekend! :)

{fabric love: lilly pultizer for lee jofa}

When I think of Spring and Summer...I want color, don't you?

and let's be honest, no one does girl-y bright colors better than Lilly Pulitzer.

 Although, most of these "looks" would never fly in my home {I'm the only girl!} I can appreciate the mixes of colors, patterns, and textures.

Her chic, preppy, colorful style makes me want to move to Florida and sit on the beach reading my favorite magazines?
you own anything "lilly pulitzer" brand?

{fabric love: fig leaf by peter dunham}

Lately I've been admiring Peter Dunham's "fig leaf" It really seems to be the perfect spring-time textile to add to any room of your home.  It's organic without being a floral and could stretch nearly any style of interior from uber modern to rustic country.

Hope you all are having a wonderful Tuesday!

{fashion & interiors: mint green}

Fashion and Interior design parallel one another...what's "hot" in fashion is usually "hot" in interiors as well.

This season pastels seem to be super popular...I've especially been seeing a lot of mint this spring.  It's such a fresh and unique color! And of course with Easter right around the corner, I think everyone needs a little minty goodness in their life!

You know what they say, what goes around, comes back around! :)

and here are some of my favorite "minty" interiors {and stuff!}:

I'm in love with this pendant light- dying to use it on a future design vision board!

Mint + Hot Pink...totally unexpected, but the color combination works beautifully together!

remember that green industrial light I showed you last week? Well check out it's fraternal twin in mint!

so cute!

can't take my eyes off this minty armoire- and there's that mint + hot pink again.

so wondering...do you like the mint green resurgence? Or would you rather leave it in the past?

{friday photo dump}

Happy Friday Friends! Are y'all as excited as I am to finally have the weekend here?

I'm also linking up with Janette at Life Rearranged to share my random photos from this week, enjoy!

I don't know what's in me...but I've really picked up sewing again!  My little hobby really comes and goes...
I made this ruffle-ly rainbow apron this week, it makes me happy.
I wear it just because I can.  I figure even if I can't cook worth a darn, at least I can look cute while trying, right? ;)

We made cinnamon rolls this week too...so yum!

this little rover had his first successful juice box...surprisingly he did quite well, minimal spills & big smiles.
win-win!

don't you just love gap-py baby teeth?

I told you he was all smiles....sometimes I wish I could just bottle up his happiness and keep it forever in a jar.

I also stitched up another pair of seersucker cargo shorts for Cash with the leftover fabric I had from his John John.  I think they'll be super cute with a little white polo for outings this summer.

I've also still been busy spring cleaning & de-cluttering around here.  You won't believe all the STUFF we have.  My motto is: less stuff, more life.

everything goes....okay not everything, but a lot of stuff goes.  Mr. Cattlebuyer thinks I've lost my mind.

Okay as far as pinterest goes...I just cannot stop thinking about how amazing it would be to own a pair of these peep-toed flats. Are they not the cutest things you've ever seen? I know I posted about shoes last week, but these are the ones I'd really love as well. I've never really been THAT into shoes until recently.  Not sure what the deal is....but if anybody see's these shoes in a 8 or 8 1/2 buy a pair for me....pretty please?! ;)

also in pinterest news, is this vintage fabric not to.die.for? I want a whole bolt of it to sew up fun things with!

and why do I not take the time to address my envelopes this pretty?  I really should.

I'm also debating whether or not to make Cash another long-all john john...and put a little horsie face on it like the one below (on the left hand side hanging).  I just know he would love it- can't get this idea out of my head.

Okay. I gotta run, hear my little ray of sunshine rising from his crib.
Have a fantastic day!

p.s. I have another fabulous design board in the works currently...can't wait to share with y'all soon!

{wiww}

I'm back...sorry for my little absence last week!
Some weeks you got it all together, and some weeks you don't.  Last week I didn't!

I'm linking up with Lindsey at The Pleated Poppy for a week of outfit inspiration. I'm sure you all are shocked by my color choice this week, I can't help it! I find myself wearing mustard yellow way too often.  Perhaps I would even go so far as to say it's my new black.

mustard t-shirt: target
wide leg jeans: gap
scarf: h&m
heels: target
belt & bracelets: old as dirt.

Thanks for visiting me this week, be sure to swing back by next week!
Have a great day friends!

{i've found the secret!}

I recently discovered the reason why it is physically impossible for me to sit down and watch a movie....

maybe you suffer from the same syndrome I have?

it's called if the set-ain't-pretty-can't-stand-to-watch-the-movie?

yep.  I don't care how good the acting is...if the set isn't appealing, usually I fall asleep or leave my husband sitting there watching a movie by himself while I bury myself in dishes, or hide behind my phone.

I'm a romantic comedy kind of girl + swoon over pretty rooms kind of girl!

which explains why I was able to watch the movie "It's Complicated" at least 3 or 4 times when normally I can't even make it through 1/2 a movie without getting restless and bored.  Meryl Streep didn't hurt either...love her!

Did you find yourself gushing over every detail in her kitchen? I did....it was all so perfectly clutter-y and pretty.

Love that kitchen!

love all the "collections" of stuff.

what I wouldn't give to have a big window like that one in my kitchen some day! Love natural sunlight!

here's kind of a bad picture of the bedroom....also very put together and pretty!

Have you ever watched a movie and swooned over every single detail in the set? How fun would it be to be a set designer?

Maybe in my next life....haha!
Happy Tuesday to you all!
