Happy Wednesday Friends!

I'm linking up with Lindsey again for another week of outfit accountability....and I've recently realized (since the weather has gotten colder) that I'm sort of obsessed with wearing dresses + leggings + boots.  It super comfy and gives me a little extra usage out of my otherwise summer-y dresses.

(I'm not sure why my middle picture is so blurry....just ignore it)

{color crush: metallic gold}

Gold Rush Season 2

Does anybody else watch the show? My husband and brother in law are obsessed with it- I'd tell you the channel it's on, but I don't even know maybe the history channel?  I watched season 1 but I'm too busy watching metallic gold take over the interior design world to care about the tv show.

Gold is making it's comeback in a BIG way in the Interior Design world.  I especially love when gold is used in lighting, accessories, and textiles..

Here's a peak at some of my favorite rooms with accents of Gold:

What is your thought on the new gold trend? I love the hint of classy sparkle and elegence it brings into rooms...just a little of it goes a long way!

Hope you all are having a great Monday!

I'm totally not a huge fan of hunting....but I'm also not a huge fan of a large buck coming through my windshield. So I've learned to accept the sport of hunting, but I still really don't care for guns.

They just scare me.

Anyways, it seems hunting season has started and my facebook friends keep posting pictures of these dead carcasses (like I said, I really don't see anything beautiful or picture worthy in taking a picture with your "kill" but whatever!)

The thing I do sort of appreciate is antlers....they are sure making a comeback in the design world

Although, I like to view them more as a organic form of art.  I can appreciate the masculine character they can add to a space.

this is more my style, in antlers in the form of a clever curtian tie back...

or a natural gorgeous antler lamp perhaps...

I will say I can appreciate taxidermy only in beautiful and appropriate spaces...but not in our house. :)

But then again maybe I'm more into antler wallpaper...

Or in small doses, just a simple pair of mounted antlers in a dark masculine room.

What do you think? Are you on the antler trend these days? I'm curious...

Happy Tuesday Friends!

{dining rooms}

In honor of this Thanksgiving holiday week. I'm posting pictures of some of my favorite dining rooms!  Thanksgiving is the one day of the year that your dining room gets the most loving. Our family usually sits around my grandma's table all day long, eating, playing games, and visiting. Although I say usually, because  this year will be a little different since we live 12 hours from home now, we are actually hosting Thanksgiving at our house with some of our family coming to visit us this week! I'm so excited for their arrival- it's going to be super fun week!

Which reminds me-- I really need to start learning how to cook....haha! Luckily my mother-in-law will be here to assist in the kitchen! :)

I'm loving the very traditional dining table and chandy, paired with the relaxed slip covered chairs.  It really looks like a table that you could sit around and play games at all day long. hello perfect thanksgiving day table and chairs.

One of my favorite "decorated" Thanksgiving table-scape.  I'm loving the non-traditional color palate.  Forget the reds and oranges.  Switch it up with some green, gold, and lavender.

This dining room makes me so's almost too perfect.  I might have to switch up that brand-new-perfect looking table with an antique piece, so when it gets a little dung up by our family I don't feel so guilty.

The relaxed setting of this table is maybe more my style.....Love the mix-match seating options, except I sorta feel bad for the person who gets that stool...its cute for a picture, but not practical.  I don't know about you, but my back would be killing me.
Lastly, a classy room, without that "stuffy" feeling that dining rooms often have.

Hope your Monday is off to a great start! I'm going to go pour myself another cup of coffee, you should too! ;)

Happy Monday!

It's Friday! Can I get an amen?!

I don't have anything too profound to share with you all, just a lot of random ramblings....

We attempted a Christmas card family picture by ourselves....uh, bad idea! I'm thinking we'll try again when our family comes next weekend, so we can have an actual person behind the camera! After 15 times we decided, to give up.  But Mr.Cattlebuyer took this of us, I sorta think it's my new favorite picture! Also, the cotton in the background...yea, it's not going to be there much longer. They are out stripping today, so bummed.

I had leftover white canvas from nugget's growth chart, so I decided to make it useful and made some pillows for our bed! And of course since I'm in love with the stripe trend, and don't have the patience to wait for actual stripe fabric to come in the mail, I painted my own stripes.  Super easy!

I also started my Christmas list....
I sorta hope Santa shops at Victoria's Secret for this stylish-not-frumpy looking hoodie:

I also found this on Pinterest, and I totally laughed out loud! This is so what my family tells me...I'm getting better with age though.
(pardon the language...)

Also, since I found a new mascara last week- I hit the jackpot and found a new lip stick I like...

"totally toffee" by maybelline.  It's a great everyday color. very natural looking, which is great for me.
it also doesn't have a stinky smell, which i like. cuz i'm particular like that.
now i'm inspired to try all Pioneer Woman's recommendations:

Okay, I gotta jet!  I'm bidding on ebay for a new pair of boots!
Ebay seriously gives me heart palpitations....praying I win this bidding war, momma needs some new boots!

{the bathroom}

The room that nobody talks about except maybe interior designers, and uh, plumbers. :)

Well today I'm here to tell you, that the bathroom counts as one of the most important rooms in your home.  No matter what you should always invest in your bathrooms (and kitchen).  It's where you should spend the most money...and most likely will.  But put a little money into the bathroom and it will return the favor exponentially down the road.

Your bathroom should not be a forgotten space in the house, make sure your bathroom reflects YOU and not Home Depot!

Personalize it, and make it be a happy surprise to your visitors....nothing makes me happier than walking into a shop/home/restaurant and finding out their bathrooms are AH-MAZING. You know what I'm talking about....I particularly like when restaurants or shops invest in their bathrooms.  Not saying I've ever done this...but have you ever eaten at a restaurant just so you could use their bathroom?! uh. I would NEVER do something like that.... ;)

The most important rule you should follow beside rule 1 - invest in your bathroom's and kitchen, is rule 2- the facet is always more important than the sink.  (repeat after me...) You can always take a ho-hum basic sink and make it gorgeous by adding a fabulous facet....but a pretty sink with a nasty old facet, ya, there's no fixin that bad boy up!

So here is a collection of some of my favorite personalized and unique bathrooms, take a look!

You know I'm such a sucker for silhouettes, but combine a silhouette and dog and I'm a fan!

Here's a great example of "rule-2" , a basic bowl sink combined with a fabulous polished facet. LOVE it. I also sort of like the exposed plumbing, something most people try cover up...

I really don't think there is anything in this bathroom I don't like.  The vanity just so happens to be in my favorite color green, and add a slab of Carrara marble - true perfection.

If you want to make a big statement, cover the walls in something unique! Here is another fabulous wallpaper for all you geography lovers...

again, another great example- pretty basic pedestal sink with an awesome facet, I also very much approve of the claw foot tub + shower curtain combination. I think I need that someday...

and lastly, how about using chalkboard paint on the walls?

I'd probably sketch a note something along the lines of  "I {heart} Chance" you know those bathroom stalls with all the love notes written on the walls....please tell me I'm not the only one that attempts to read them! ;) This chalkboard wall would definitely get doodled on in my house...

I hope this inspires you all to think outside the box, personalize your bathroom, make it a reflection of YOU!

Happy Thursday!

I bet most of you don't know this, but a long time ago I worked/lived in Big Sky Montana for a summer.  It was such a wonderful experience for me for so many reasons, but most importantly (from a design stand point) it's where I learned my love of cowhide!

As you all know "hairy hide" as they called it out there, is h-o-t right now! What used to be a stereotypical "western" design element is now a go-to for pretty much any style out there!

I think this rug is especially beautiful...
and this room is my the feminine white bedding (mr. cattlebuyer and I just got a comforter very similiar to this)  mixed with the brassy accents and the layered rugs

so, I want to know, what are your feelings on the cowhide trend?  yay or nay?

Happy Wednesday Friends! It's the middle of week, so you know I'm linking up with Lindsey from the Pleated Poppy for another week of outfit inspiration!

First off, I got to admit, this outfit is a little "out there" for me.... I tried the tunic with leggings combo and I'm still undecided on it.

Secondly, I hardly ever wear my hair in a pony....but we ran out of time this day for hair, so a side braid and messy pony did the trick.  I tried to "dress up" the pony by adding the dangly earrings....see below.

Lastly, I haven't worn this tunic since I was 6 mo. pregnant ( I still don't know what I was thinking wearing such a bold print when I was at my largest?), so it's rather large and baggy now and to be honest with y'all I did not wear this outfit out of our house- the only person that saw me in this get-up was our 1 year old, and he doesn't speak so he couldn't tell me if it was completely the verdict is still out!

If it is completely horrific, I plan on deleting this post, never to be seen again! ;)

tunic - target
leggings- dillards
belt- local boutique
boots- wally
gold dangle earrings- von maur
gold pendant necklace- local boutique

Hope y'all are having a wonderful Wednesday!

{color crush: beautiful beige}

Lately I've been really big into neutrals....I know. neutrals are safe. and easy. and sometimes can be slightly boring.  But, beige done right, in the correct way can be completely gorgeous!

so here's a little brown-y beige inspiration!

Totally not design related, but you all know every good day starts out with with a cup of joe.

Love doing the center island in an accent color...and this beige one is totally working.  The glass cabinets, white tiled back splash, and jaw-dropping lanterns aren't so bad either ;)

One of my favorite designers, Erika Powell, designed this beige room! And it's nothing short of amazing...

Beige sofa + chocolate brown walls + dripping with crystals chandy... in the words of charlie sheen, "winning!"

white and beige is just so feminine and pretty...don't you think?

or how about beige walls with pops of plum? nice on the eye...

This Martha Stewart kitchen...makes me want to start collecting copper pans...

Last but not least, one of my favorite nurseries designed.  It works for boy or girl and is anything BUT boring.

Hope that inspires you neutral-haters!
Sometimes simple beige can even be pretty.

I have to tell you all, I'm having computer issues again! I had to restart this sucker 15 times (no joke) this morning to get it to work.  I'm secretly hoping Santa brings me a new computer for Christmas this year.  I know that's kind of a big gift, but I have been extra good this year! ;)

Have a great Tuesday friends!

{designer love: beth webb}

Happy Monday Friends!
We had a great weekend, and I think we may finally be back on a schedule *hopefully*.  If y'all are waiting on email or package from me, I'm sending stuff out this morning and hopefully will conquer my inbox this afternoon! :)

I haven't done a "designer love" feature for a while, so this morning I am swooning over Beth Moore's chic interior design style.  It has a unique eclectic touch too it....the perfect blending of multiple design styles.

take a look for yourself:

They are all such fabulously unique rooms....consider me a fan for life Beth!

Have a great day y'all!
