{4 months}

Cash Austin Bergen

Four months ago, our lives grew tremendously.  Cash Austin came into world.  Cash, you get more fun by the day.  You have blessed us so tremendously and I'm not sure what we ever did without you. God chose us to be your parents and how lucky are we? I think we scored big time! I thank him everyday because you are such a good baby.... our lives have changed so much since you have been born. God has lead us down here to Texas....just the three of us, off to the to the middle of nowhere Texas. {ok so it's not really the middle of no where...but somedays it feels that way!} Texas has treated us well so far, and you have adjusted amazingly good.  You were an angel on the drive down, only having to stop a few times for a diaper change or bottle feeding.  You barely cried and slept about the entire way.....and the times you were awake, we played in the backseat together.  You are becoming such a BIG boy.  We took you to a party last weekend and there was a 5 month old little girl there, and you were twice the size of her :) we told everyone we were from Nebraska, and they joked it must be because we are cornfed cornhuskers.....

{I snorgle those cheeks every day!}
Lately, you've been getting lots of tummy time and you lift your head up in the air like a big boy.  Especially if there is a toy in front of you! You kick your legs and arms alot and usually talk when you do so....i sure wish I could understand baby-talk sometimes so i could understand what you are saying! I can't wait until you start telling me things and I can tell you things.  I hope you always feel as though you can tell me anything.  We will always be here for you no matter what.

You also love mirror time....oh boy you get sooo excited when you see your reflection in the mirror.  You could sit there all day and watch yourself move and smile. I usually talk to you too, and you look at me in amazement. the books say you can't tell it's you...but i think you can! :)

You also love to suck on things....you still love to suck and chew on your fingers but you especially love to chew on your lovies and blankies, as well as your chewies (teethers).  anything you can get in your mouth you are all about! You can reach for your toys when you want them, and you will hold toys in your two hands when we put them in there.  I love seeing how you are growing and changing and learning....it is amazing how far you've come since you were born! I finally put a box of your clothes away that were too small for you. it partially broke my heart, because you no longer fit in them....but it also made me so happy because the bigger you get the funner and more interactive you become! It makes life feel so worth while.

Since we have moved down here to Texas you and I are together every single day...and I love it! yes, there are days you completely exhaust me....but it so worth the reward of seeing you grow, change, and learn.  your smiles are priceless and make everyday worthwhile! Being a stay at home mom doesn't pay in money but it pays in love...and it's far greater than any paycheck I could ever receive.

You eat 6-8 oz bottles every day. And just last week you got your first taste of rice cereal in your bottle....you LOVED it.   Not that that surprises me at all! :) I can't wait to take you to your 4 month check up this month to see how much you really weigh....I think probably about 18-19 lbs.  We are so thankful you are a healthy boy!

You talk, and talk, and talk, and your new thing is screaming....I think you are discovering your voice.  Many times I put you in your new exersaucer you talk to your toys....especailly the pink and yellow lion.  you always talk to him!  You also love your black and white cow lovie....he is your favorite!

You are still sleeping like a big boy....usually you fall asleep about 11-12 and you sleep until daddy leaves at 7:30 in the morning.  Thats when you smile a lot.  I love waking you up to your little happy face, it makes me feel like everyday is a new start and there is always a reason to be happy! I feel bad for some of those people that wake up on the wrong side of the bed and are always grumpy...I just can't imagine living life like that! Everyone needs to be able to wake up to a little baby smiling at them...I think it would make the world a better place....(i think so anyways) :)

One of your favorite places to be is near the window....you love looking outside and watching the leaves blow or the birds fly.  If you are ever fussy, I always take you to the window and we look outside together.  You are instantly calmed down.  You also love going on walks....we go on walks nearly every day.  It gives us a chance to get some fresh air and it allows Mommy to get some exercise.

There is so much I could say about you Cash Austin, but words could never describe how happy you have made our lives.  You are such a little miracle.  I thank God every day for your life and that he allows us to be your parents...I can't think of a better privilege. We love you soooooo much!

Love you forever and always,
Momma

{chocolate+white}

love that color combo, so when my mom told me they were painting their bedroom chocolate brown....I knew I had to put my two-sense in....which means i'm suggesting white, white, white!   Something about chocolate and white, the contrast of the two colors really pops!

So this is for you mom.....some of my inspiration rooms! Hope you enjoy! {love you!}

I also think for a funky look you should put up silhouettes of your grandchildren...similar to the canvas' below...do you like them?

{simplify}

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend...ours was filled with family and friends {and packing boxes}

although, we dedicated a lot more time with family and friends than packing....and now we have some serious packing to do in the next 3 days. i think subconsciously I've been avoiding this, because if i didn't take things off the walls, clean shelves, and empty closets, it meant we weren't moving....but the fact is, we are moving! now we are down to the wire, and still have a seemingly endless amount of STUFF to pack. yuck. but it must be done. and soon!

BUT....

In my spare time...

i like to dream of our future home....

{...in case you didn't know...i dream big!} :)

and I think i will work on having:

less stuff and more simplicity.

less decorating and more living.

less distractions and more meaning.

less bought and more home-made.

less objects and more people.

how about you?
any goals for your home for 2011?

I think I'd also really like some horse prints... they are everywhere these days...
{i think chance might too! BONUS!}

I especially like the black and white photos...simply gorgeous!

Well i best get back to cleaning and packing...

Happy Monday!

{packing}

Happy Friday Everyone!

We are in moving mode around here...packing, wrapping, cleaning, discarding, donating, ect. We are also trying to squeeze in time to be with our friends and family this last week of Nebraska.  We are going to miss everyone like crazy, it's hard for me to even think about a week from now driving away from this place, leaving it all behind.  so many feelings tied to this place, our home.

I'll try and post some more before we head out, but if not, this is what I keep telling myself {....on repeat} :)

{happy, happy!}

Happy New Year Everyone!

(yes, i realize i'm 3 days late...that's how i roll these days...always a little late!) :)
I pray as you are blessed beyond measure, tested and tried beyond belief and loved more than life in the upcoming year, may we not forget that His Mercies are new every morning, and that we have much to be thankful for as we praise the God who saves, provides our every need and holds us in the palm of His hands.
Thanks be to God!

Thanks for a beautiful 2010, it'll be a year I will never forget.  2010 will always have a special place in my heart.  Our trip to Arizona, Engagement, Pregnancy, George Strait Concert, Walks on the MoPac Trail, the birth of our baby boy, Mr.cattlebuyer's graduation, our first holiday's as a family, and then the big news of Mr.cattlebuyer's new job....it'll definitely be a year that will go down in the history as a lot of 1st's for our family.

My hope is that you will come with me in 2011 on our journey to our new home, a new lifestyle, and our new marriage.  I'll be documenting it all here, along with some design blogs along the way!

{3 months}

Cash Austin you are the highlight of my life.  It has only been three months since I had you but it's funny, i can't even remember what my life was like without you! You occupy all of me and daddy's time, and we love it! You are such a good baby! I thank my lucky stars for you everyday!

You sleep through the night, Hallelujah! We are so grateful for that! Daddy usually rocks you to sleep after he gives you a bottle in the lazy boy.  He thinks the lazy boy has special powers that make you sleep because whenever we try and rock you to sleep anywhere else, you wake up shortly after.  But with the lazy boy you sleep like a big boy through the night! You usually fall asleep about 11:30-12, and sleep until 7:30-8ish.  Sometimes when you sleep you move your lips like you are eating, it makes me and daddy laugh! We think you must be dreaming of eating....because not only do you sleep like a big boy, you also eat like a big boy!

You usually eat between 5-7 oz. at a time! If we ever don't feed you enough, you let us know! You get very upset if we pull your bottle away early....and usually you let out a whimper.  You will get rice cereal next month.  We think you probably weight 16-17 lbs already.  We have your next check up in February.  You will go to a different doctor because we are moving to Texas.

Lately you love to put your hands in your mouth, usually we keep mitty's on your hands because sometimes when you get mad you scratch up your face! Your mitty's are usually soaking wet when we take them off of you because you have been gnawing on them all day long.  Mommy thinks your mitty's are cute, plus they keep your fingers warm in the cold!  You have been discovering your arms as well. You like to fling them around and sometimes you reach for your toys in front of you.

You also LOVE to blow bubbles at mommy and daddy.  You are the best 3 month old baby bubble blower i know.  You think it's funny when we make silly sounds with our mouth like make a "bbbbbrrrrrrrr.." Usually you try and do it back to us and you've gotten really good at trying to "talk" back to us.  Sometimes you let out a "yelp" or "agee" ir "hieee" sounds.  we love that.  You are also very generous with your smiles...you smile all the time! You open your mouth really big and smile with your whole face, even your eye's smile! Sometimes i catch daddy and you talking and smiling together....you two are best buds!

You celebrated your first Christmas last week. you were such a good boy for everyone.  you got lots of presents and where the center of attention most of the weekend! Grandpa Ron got you some john Deere stuff, he must think you will be a little farmer! :) Whatever you decide to be i know you will be great at it! I like to dream of what you will become.  You also got your first barn.  Great Grandma Pearl really spoiled you and got you lots of fun toys for when you are older! Christmas was special because you were a part of our lives this year.  I can't wait when you are older to teach you the story of Jesus and how special Christmas is! I also want to teach you to be generous, I want you to know the real reason for Christmas and giving back to other less fortunate.  I can't wait to make our first gingerbread house and teach you how to decorate Christmas cookies. I finished your special stocking only days before Christmas, it took mommy a LOT of time, but it was worth it!  My mommy made me a special stocking when i was little and now you too, have your very own special stocking.  I hope you keep it with you for a very long time.  Even grandma Rhonda has her special stocking from when she was a little girl. You make the holidays extra special.

We've come up with lots of nicknames for you.  Some of them are : Cashew, Casher, Cashman, Cashbug, Cashie, CasherPasherMisterMasher, Bubbie (mommy's fav!).  We thought naming you something simple like Cash, we couldn't come up with any nicknames, but boy, were we wrong!

You have officially out-grown alot of your "baby" clothes.  It makes mommy sad to put away some of the first outfits we put you in, but I know its a good thing because that means you are healthy and growing! We dress you it 3-6 month clothes. You finally got to wear your wranglers that uncle cole gave you at mommy's baby shower! They looked so cute on you!

We love you to pieces Cash, you have made our brightened our lives more than you will ever know.  We will stick together as a family down in Texas and someday you will get tell all your friends that you lived in big Texas (how cool!?) We make all of our decisions thinking about what is best for you.  We always put you before everything else.  We will have to skype and send lots of pictures to everyone back in Nebraska because everyone will miss you like crazy! Mommy is very excited about getting to spend every day with you! We will have lots of fun and go on lots of Texas adventures.  We can't imagine our lives without you, Cash Austin, you are a blessing to us and fill our hearts with overflowing joy!

If 2011 is anything like 2010 we are in for a fun year!!

Love you forever and ever,
Momma
